About

I have seen and learned a lot as an art teacher and I want to share it with you!

I have been an art teacher since 1998. I graduated from Eastern Illinois University with a Bachelors of Art in art education.  I earned my Masters of Art in art education from Boston University in 2012.    I have taught preschoolers, high schoolers and everyone in between. I've taught in the country, urban neighborhoods and the 'burbs. My students have been recognized for local and national achievements, I've been published in SchoolArts magazine, and self-published many books and handbooks.

In 2014 I opened a storefront art studio aptly named No Corner Suns Art Studio in downtown Westmont, IL.  Like a dream come true - I established a space for all ages to learn about and create ART!  I taught tots, kids, tweens, teens, and adults.

In 2015, I resigned my K-5 position and got a super part-time art position in Hinsdale Community Consolidated School District 181. I have been given an awesome opportunity to work with some of the most amazing art teachers in Illinois.

In 2017, I started working super part time at Holy Trinity Catholic School in Westmont, IL. teaching K-8 art.  If you're keeping track, that's right:  I taught at three places that year. That was why I decided to close the art studio in the summer in summer of 2018. It was busy.  I was busy.  It was too busy!!
